How To Fix Taskbar Search ProblemsTime: Jun. 11, 2020
Method 1: Restart Your Windows
This solution might look stupid or anything but believe me this is most useful of them all because Windows 10 does not close all the servicesand app if you just put your Windows to sleep or even Shut down completely as some of the processes are still not refreshed when you Start
the Windows.
Go on in the Windows Start menu, click on the power icon and from its menu click on the Restart button as highlighted above. This will probably
restart all the process and services, bringing and fixing the search on your taskbar.
Method 2: End And Restart Cortana Processes
Step 1: Open Task ManagerTo open the Task Manager, right-click on the Windows icon, this will pop up its context menu as shown above. From the menu click on the Task
Manager option, this will open up the Task Manager from where you can manage apps, services, and processes.
Step 2: End Cortana Task
From Task Manager, make sure you’re in the Processes tab as shown above. In the column of Name scroll down till you find Cortana under the
Background Processes. Simply click to select the Cortana process and then click on the End task button as highlighted above. This will remove and
restart the process. If this didn’t solve the issue, move to the next method.
Method 3: Restart Windows Explorer From Task Manager
Reopen Task manager, from the Processes tab, scroll all the way down to the Windows processes section where you can find the Windows Explorer
process as highlighted above. Simply click to select the process and then click on the Restart button. You will experience a flash of a screen which
will indicate that the Windows Explorer has been restarted. If this didn’t work either keep moving to the next methods.
Method 4: Restart The Windows Search Services
Step 1: Open Run Desktop AppTo open the Run Desktop app, press the Windows key + R key simultaneously, you will see a Run dialog box popping up as shown above. From the
Open text box, type in “services.msc” and then click the OK button as highlighted above.
Step 2: Find Windows Search Service
From the services window, scroll down till you find the Windows Search service as highlighted above.
Step 3: Restart Windows Search Service
From the services window, scroll down till you find the Windows Search service as highlighted above.
